Have you ever felt that words aren’t enough to describe that weight you carry inside? In our previous post, we learned how to recognize when the body screams what the soul keeps silent. Today, we’re moving past diagnosis and taking action.

If you’re someone who, when trying to meditate, only hears the noise of your own anxiety, you need a tool with a physical anchor. This is where EFT (Emotional Freedom Techniques) or Tapping comes in.

What is Tapping and why does it work?

This technique bridges ancient wisdom and modern science. It combines acupressure from Chinese medicine with exposure therapy. By gently tapping on specific points on your body (energy meridians), we send a signal of calm to the brain’s amygdala, lowering cortisol levels (the stress hormone).

Forget the myth of “clearing your mind.” Today we’re going to use your fingers as switches to turn off your nervous system’s alarm.

The Practice: Your Step-by-Step Guide

Find a quiet place. All you need is 5 minutes and a willingness to let go.

Step 1: The Setup (Hands and Truth)

Rub your hands together vigorously to generate heat and place them over the center of your chest. Close your eyes and say aloud:

“Although I feel this knot/pressure/sadness here and now, I recognize that it is stagnant energy, and I choose to gently release it with love.”

Step 2: The Point Sequence

Using the tips of your index and middle fingers, gently tap each point 7 times while repeating the corresponding phrase:

Between the eyebrows: “This tension in my mind.”

Side of the eye: “This fear I can’t name.”

Under the eye: “The sadness that dwells within me.”

Under the nose: “The judgment I keep silent.”

    Chin: “The shame I hide.”

    Collarbone: “The burden I carry.”

Under the arm (ribs): “Releasing everything that is no longer mine.”

Crown of the head: “Returning to my peace.”

Step 3: Breathe and Scan

Take a deep breath in through your nose and exhale with an audible sigh (letting the air out through your mouth). Place your hand on your chest again. Has the intensity of the sensation changed? Congratulations: that’s your energy moving.

What comes after the void?

Tapping is like a first-aid kit for anxiety. However, once we release the pain, a sacred space remains that we must learn to fill.

In our next (and final) post in this series, we’ll talk about what happens when your vibration shifts: synchronicities. I’ll teach you how to read the signs the universe sends you as you begin to heal, so you’ll never feel lost again.
