About Us

Every project has a seed. Ours was planted in love, in healing, and in the hands of a woman who understood — long before the world caught up — that the body, the earth, and the spirit speak the same language.
Integrating consciousness into our lives
Integrating consciousness into our lives Each encounter is an invitation to slow down, listen, and rediscover inner harmony.
Through practices that unite body, mind, and spirit, a space of awareness opens where calm becomes nourishment and authentic presence a daily gift. It is a journey that guides you toward renewed balance, capable of transforming everyday life into a fuller and more luminous experience.
A path of nurturing vibrations, of wellness that illuminates, of deep regeneration:
an invitation to breathe calm and to discover spaces of awareness that connect you with yourself and with your most authentic energy.

Our Story

The Visionary Origin: Yemi’s Legacy Dolores Bates-Jones, known to all who loved her as Yemi, was a naturopathic consultant, master herbalist, teacher, poet, and visionary. Born in Asbury Park, New Jersey, her path toward natural healing began in childhood, when her maternal grandmother cured her of scarlet fever using only herbal remedies. That early miracle became the compass of her life. She spent decades translating that wisdom into practice: conducting workshops on alternative therapies and natural food preparation across the Eastern United States and in Playa del Carmen, Mexico; co-authoring the book Fire Without Flame: A Vital Mutation Theory; co-founding the Herb Work Natural Therapy Research Center in Washington, DC; and developing a body-light repair approach to healing that was, by all accounts, extraordinary. Yemi carried a dream — that her work would not end with her, but would continue to grow through someone who could receive the seed and carry it forward into new soil. The Lineage: Ira Calixto That someone was Ira Calixto. Born in Brazil and raised in the traditions of indigenous midwives and African roots, Ira’s life has been a lifelong immersion in the power of herbs, prayers, and sacred dance. Since arriving in the Mayan lands in 1994, she has become a Guardian of the Sacred Fire and the Cacao Ceremony. With over thirty years of experience as a facilitator and therapist, Ira honors the lineage of Yemi by holding the ceremonial space and grounding that ancestral legacy into the present. The Creative Force of Sound: Ram Curbelo The project reaches its full harmony with the presence of Ram Curbelo. Born in Argentina with indigenous and European roots, Ram is a multidisciplinary artist and yoga teacher who brings the vital healing power of sound to Mamayemi. As a master of sound therapy and a raw food educator, Ram complements the ancestral wisdom with his mastery of gongs, bowls, and original compositions, weaving the vibrational landscape that supports every journey of transformation. The Union: Harmonia Tou Kosmou In 2015, Ira and Ram united their paths to found Harmonia Tou Kosmou (Healing Through Ancient and Modern Arts). This partnership of souls and visions is the direct foundation of what Mamayemi is today. Together, they lead sound journeys and sacred rituals, balancing the ceremonial depth of the feminine with the creative resonance of the masculine to create a sanctuary of wholeness. The Mamayemi Project is the living continuation of Yemi's dream: a space where ancestral wisdom, natural healing, sacred feminine power, and the transformative arts converge — held in the magical Mayan jungle, offered to every soul ready to return to their most whole and essential self.
